New to Mission? So glad you decided to make Mission a part of your weekend plans! Head to Connection Point after the service for a free gift and you’ll find lots of friendly people ready to help with any questions you may have!
There is so much pressure in our culture to portray our best image. This can be especially true for women as we flip through the pages of magazines, scroll through our Instagram feeds or see other women’s “highlight reels” on Facebook. Many of us find ourselves wishing our lives looked that good.
Spark is a gathering of real women with real lives. A place for us to appreciate, encourage and celebrate one another as we seek God and His best for us. A place where we can look at each other with grace and say, “me too.” This kind of authentic gathering could be just the spark that we all need to ignite something real: real faith, real friendship, real hope. Can't wait to see you there!
When: Friday, October 18th, 7-9PM or Saturday, October 19th, 7-9PM
Where: Mission Church, 5353 Walker Street
**Doors open at 6:45. Childcare is not provided
If you are new to church, new to faith, or new to Mission, you are invited to the Start Party on Monday, October 21st, 6-7:30 PM! Simply put, THIS IS THE PLACE TO START! There will be free food, fun, bounce houses for the kids, a chance to meet other people and some encouragement around what’s possible for each of us when we do life with God. If you would consider yourself new in any way, this party is designed to be a place for you to start. Start meeting other great people at Mission, start making connections, start understanding what God has for you and start taking steps toward who you want to become.
Maybe church is new for you, and you're finding hope that you didn't know was real. Maybe you grew up in church, but you're just starting to get this God thing in a way that is starting to make sense. Or maybe you recently realized that you aren't the person you used to be, and it's because you are following Jesus way more closely than you were ready to admit.
If any of that is true, and you’re ready to publicly declare that you’re decided to trust and follow Jesus, sign up to be baptized at Mission during one of the services on October 27! Head to missionventura.com/baptism to get started.
With any questions, stop by Connection Point to talk with a Care Team member or email us at email@example.com.
Fight Night - Mission Men’s Event - Saturday, November 2nd @6PM
Men are no strangers to a good fight. We fight to win that promotion. We fight to win the girl. We even fight just for fun sometimes...But as hard as we fight, it always seems like life eventually throws a punch that knocks us out. And then even worse, sometimes we win - only to realize that the winner's circle isn't all we hoped it would be. Maybe the problem isn't that it's hard to win at life. Maybe the problem is we've been taught to fight for the wrong things - things that will never get us that deep satisfaction and contentment we all need so much. What if we were men that started fighting FOR others instead of against them? Fighting for our CHARACTER instead of our image? Fighting FOR our families instead of with them? Fight Night will help us guys start fighting for what matters - and fighting to win.
Child Dedications are a chance for parents and guardians to express their desire to raise their child to know the love of God. It is an opportunity for families to commit to teaching and showing their child who God is, and it’s a chance for Mission to commit to supporting those families throughout the way!
Child Dedications will be part of all Sunday service times on November 17th at Mission! If you are interested in having your child dedicated and prayed for during one of the services, please fill out this form to register your family!
Also, take note that while we love your older children and would love to pray for them, Child Dedications are geared toward younger children. If your child is elementary school age or older, we'd encourage them to instead pursue their own step towards God, perhaps through baptism.
Please fill this form out by November 14th, and note that we have a limited number of spaces available at each service, so your time slot will be based on availability.
Any questions or concerns? Please feel free to email Becky Baker at firstname.lastname@example.org
This month's partner is Gabriel's House, a place of hope providing life-saving emergency and and transitional housing for unsheltered women and children. They have asked us to collect some simple products: Paper Towels, Toilet Paper, Trash Bags, Laundry Soap and paper plates to help turn their transitional housing into a home.
