I'm hoping you are finding a rhythm as a group and finding more and more connections between the people in your group. So thankful for each of you and the circles you're creating for the people at Missions!
Sometimes our discussions need a kick-start, or just some variety. Try these "audibles" to shake things up or get them moving!
Whether your group is 6 or 16, sometimes not everyone is comfortable jumping in and sharing right away (or what seems like ever...). But that's okay! For a question or two, try forming pairs or smaller groups of 3 to make it a little more accessible for people. You can use this rule of thumb if you've got slow starters...
- Everyone will share in a pair discussing familiar information.
- Almost everyone will share when they are in a small group of four.
- Few will share in a group that is five or larger.
Although it may feel like it sometimes, the discussion guide each week isn't a list of boxes to be checked off - and there's no reward for getting through them all! Use your intuition to keep conversation flowing, and try camping out on an idea for a while. Ask simple follow-up questions like...
- "tell me more about that..."
- "has anyone else experienced something like that?"
- "how can we do start doing something about that?"
- "why do you think you experience that/how did that make you feel?"

New Series at Mission
What we think about who God is determines the kind of relationship we have with Him. If we think He is harsh and demanding, we'll probably keep our distance from Him or spend our lives just trying not to screw up. If we think He is vague and impersonal, we'll most likely have a vague and impersonal relationship with HIm. Over the next several weeks at Mission we are going to uncover some of the false narratives we have in our minds about who God is.
