Watch the video! Sing and dance along to the worship songs, watch the Bible story, and connect the big idea to real life!
Talk about each of the questions to keep the conversation going
Do the activity together to have some fun and reinforce the big idea!
Talk It Through Together
Question of the day! (all ages!)
Go around the room and ask the question: “What would you do if you won the lottery?”
Story Questions:
What did David want to do for God? (David wanted to build a home for God--the Temple)
What was God’s plan instead? (God said David wouldn’t be the one to build His house, David’s son would build the temple.)
What did God promise David? (God also promised to make David's family the leaders of Israel forever, all the way through David's children's children's children and so on!)
Has God ever done something unexpected in your life?

SURPRISE! Here’s an unexpected treat for your day! Instead of spending time on a Church Kit project, take the day to enjoy all the good things God has given you!
In today’s story, God surprised David with the unexpected and you know what? God will surprise us with the unexpected, too, and sometimes, it will be even better than what we imagined. God's plans, God's purposes, and God's power are so much bigger than we could ever expect!
