Do the activity together to have some fun and reinforce the big idea!

Question of the day! (all ages!)
Go around the room and ask the question: “Would you rather have rainbow colored hair, or zebra stripes all over your skin?”
Questions for 1st-3rd Graders
Who invited Nathaniel to meet Jesus? (Philip!)
Why was Nathaniel amazed by Jesus? (Jesus knew things about Nathanael that only Nathanael would know.)
How is the way that Jesus knows us different from the way other people know us? (Jesus knows EVERYTHING about us, and He loves us no matter what!)
How does it make you feel knowing that Jesus knows you so well?
Questions for 4th-5th Graders
Who invited Nathaniel to meet Jesus?
How do you think Nathaniel felt when Jesus started talking to him?
What was amazing about what Jesus said to Nathaniel?
Read Psalm 139:2
“You know when I sit down and when I get up. You know my thoughts from far away.”
What does this verse say about how much Jesus knows us?
How does it make you feel knowing that Jesus knows you so well?
3. DO IT // ACTIVITIES
ACTIVITY 1 - “Know it All”
Take the activity page (from your Church Kit or view/print below) and cut out the paper strips.
Place the strips inside a bowl.
Grab a partner and take turns picking a strip out of the bowl.
Then, set a timer for 1 minute and take turns naming something from that category until the timer goes off. If something you say does not fit the category or you repeat a word, the round is over!
Just because you know facts about someone, does that mean you actually know them? Not always. We can know things about people without knowing them very well, or at all. Today we discovered that Jesus knows us better than anyone else, and that is SO amazing!
ACTIVITY 2 - Jesus Knows Me
Use the activity page (from the Church Kit or view/print below) to create a self-portrait! You can write words that describe yourself and/or draw doodles that represent who you are. Then write "Jesus knows me" somewhere on the page as the title of your self-portrait.
Look at your self-portrait! God made each feature on your face on purpose. Our world has different standards for what they think makes someone attractive, but know this – each of you are unquestionably beautiful because you are God's creation.
