This Sunday, we’re discovering…

Main Point: Jesus is amazing!

Bible Story:  The Four Friends // Mark 2:1-12

What you do

  1. Watch the worship and story video together (and learn the verse of the month!!)

  2. Talk about each of the questions to keep the conversation going

  3. Pray together!

  4. Make it - check out our suggested art activity.

  5. Move it - to have some fun, move around, and reinforce the big idea!

Memory Verse

Everyone (arms out)

who heard him (hands behind ears)

was amazed (hands around eyes like binoculars)

Luke 2:47 (hold hands like an open book)

God gave us the words of the Bible to show us who He is!

Practice the verse a few times! In Mission Kids, we often practice saying it different ways, like reallllyyyy sllowwwllyyyy, SUPER LOUD, or with a roar!

Talk it through together

  1. How many friends were in the story? (four)

  2. Who were the four friends wanting to help? (They wanted to help their friend who couldn’t walk.)

  3. Did the friends have to walk very far to get to Jesus?(Yes!)

  4. Where was Jesus when the friends found Him? (He was in a house surrounded by a lot of people.)

  5. How do you think the friends felt when they couldn’t get to Jesus?

  6. What did the friends do to get to Jesus? (They went on the roof and lowered their friend down.)

  7. What did Jesus do when he saw the man that couldn’t walk? (Jesus healed the man.)

  8. How do you think Jesus felt when he saw the man that couldn’t walk?

  9. Who is amazing? (Jesus is amazing!)

Pray Together

Before you pray, ask your kiddo if they can tell you one person they know that needs Jesus to help them feel better. Pray together using the prayer below or your own.

“Dear God, thank you for giving us Jesus to be our friend forever. Thank You that He loves us and wants to help us. We know Jesus has the power to heal us and make us better. We trust that Jesus will always help us do hard things. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
