Bible Story: The Thankful Woman - Luke 7:36-50
What you do
Watch the worship and story video together (and learn the verse of the month!!)
Talk about each of the questions to keep the conversation going

Move it - to have some fun, move around, and reinforce the big idea!
Verse of the Month
A friend (hook your fingers together)
loves (hug yourself)
at all times (spin in a circle with arms out)
Proverbs 17:17 (hold hands like an open book)
God gave us the words of the Bible to show us who He is!
Practice the verse a few times! In Mission Kids, we often practice saying it different ways, like sqeaky, SUPER LOUD, or with a roar!
Talk It Out
What was Jesus doing when a woman came to see Jesus? (He was having dinner with some friends)
Was the woman invited to the dinner? (No)
Why didn’t the people at the dinner want the woman to be there? (she had made a lot of bad choices)
What did the woman do when she saw Jesus? (she started crying and washed his feet with her tears and put perfume on His feet.)
Why did she wash Jesus’ feet? (she knew that Jesus had forgiven her)
What did Jesus do when the woman washed His feet? (He knew all the bad choices she had made and loved her anyway)
Who loves you no matter what? (Jesus loves me!)
Pray Together
Before you pray, ask your kiddo to think of one wrong choice they have made. Everyone has made a wrong choice before. That’s why everyone needs to know that Jesus loves them, no matter what! Then pray together using the one below or your own:
“Dear God, thank you for sending Jesus to love us, no matter what. Thank You that Jesus is the kind of friend who forgives us every time and will never, ever stop loving us. Every person in the world has made wrong choices, and we all need Jesus to forgive us. Today, we want to say we are sorry for (name wrong choices). I pray that (kiddo’s name) will always talk to You about their choices and trust that Jesus loves them, no matter what. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
MAKE IT // ART ACTIVITY
What you need: Activity Page (view/print below or grab from your February Church Kit), crayons, and scissors.
What you do:
Color the door hanger.
Cut it out and hang it on your door.
Remind your kiddo that Jesus knows everything about us, and no matter what we do, Jesus will never stop loving us. Jesus loves us, and He wants to be our friend forever.
Who loves you? Jesus loves me!
MOVE IT // ACTIVE ACTIVITY
What you need: Activity Page (view/print below or grab from your February Church Kit)
What you do:
Place a thumbs up page on one side of the room, and a thumbs down page on the opposite side of the room.
Have everyone stand in the middle.
When you give a “choice” your kiddo will run to the thumbs up or thumbs down.
Then move back to the middle.
Choices: 1)Brushing your teeth 2) Not picking up your toys 3) Arguing with your sibling 4) Helping with dinner 5) Praying to God 6) Not doing what a parent tells you to do 7) Bringing a friend a flower 8) Being a good listener.
Remember together, even when we make the wrong choice (because we all do sometimes!), God ALWAYS loves us, no matter what!

Continue the conversation all week by reminding each other of all the ways Jesus shows that he loves us!
